We chose one sector. And set out to do it well.
CloudWorks is a Portuguese software engineering company based in Maia, near Porto. We make PeritOS and Teleperitagens, and we operate the software we build.
What we do today.
PeritOS is our claims inspection management system: it receives assignments from insurers, allocates them to adjusters, tracks deadlines, generates reports and calculates fees. All in one system, configured to each operation's rules and connected to insurers' systems.
Teleperitagens carries out the inspection by video when a site visit isn't worth it. The policyholder receives a link, opens their phone camera and the adjuster leads the session. At the end, the photos, videos and report are attached to the case.
Outside claims inspection, we still build custom software (in Portuguese) for companies that need a system built around the way they work.
How we work.
Close to the people who use it.
We design with adjusters, coordinators and insurers, not just for them. Product decisions come from what we see happening in real cases.
Responsible from code to operations.
We build, host, monitor 24/7 and support. There is no third party to pass the blame to.
Continuous development.
The product improves every month, based on what customers actually use. We work in SCRUM, with short releases and a dedicated team.
Who we work for.
A claims inspection involves several parties. We design for each of them.
Loss-adjusting firms
In-house teams and external adjusters working in the same system, from assignment to invoicing.
Insurers
Visibility over the adjuster network, deadlines and reports, without phone calls asking where things stand.
Independent adjusters
Professional remote inspection for those working on their own or in a small firm.
Why we chose a single sector.
A generalist supplier has to serve every sector at once, and each one gets a little attention. We chose the opposite. We know insurers' deadlines, the types of claim, the difference between an in-house and an external adjuster, and what it means when a report is sent back.
That knowledge doesn't stay in the sales deck: it is in the product, in how we configure each customer and in the questions we ask at the first meeting. And because we operate what we build, every problem we solve for one firm improves the system for everyone.

Where is CloudWorks based?
In Maia, in the Porto district of Portugal: Rua Florbela Espanca, 139, 4470-296 Maia. It is from here that we build, operate and support PeritOS and Teleperitagens.
Does CloudWorks build and run its own software?
Yes. We build, host, monitor 24/7 and support PeritOS and Teleperitagens. We do not outsource operations to a third party.
What is the difference between PeritOS and Teleperitagens?
PeritOS manages the whole operation of a loss-adjusting firm or an insurer, from assignment to fee. Teleperitagens carries out inspections by video and connects to PeritOS, but can also be used on its own.
What support do customers get?
A ticketed helpdesk on working days, 9:00 to 18:00 (Portugal time), via portal, chat, email and a direct line to the technical team. The platform is monitored 24/7.
How do you handle case data?
With EU hosting, encryption in transit and at rest, an immutable audit log and daily backups. The details are on our Security and GDPR page.
Do you still build custom software?
Yes. As well as our claims inspection products, we build custom software (in Portuguese) for companies with their own processes.
